Become a Spartan Musician for a week! This camp is for rising 7th-9th musicians who have at least one year's proficiency on a band or orchestra instrument: flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, baritone, tuba, percussion, violin, viola, cello, bass. Students will rehearse in large, medium, and small groups, gaining ensemble experience in symphony orchestra, string orchestra and/or symphonic band, and small group settings. The week will culminate in a short concert for parents. Music will be provided. If you need to borrow a school instrument, please let us know at registration so that we are sure to have one ready for you!

This camp will run in one session: Jul 6-Jul 10, 2026 from 9:00 am-3:00 pm daily.

The cost of a 5-day session of this camp is $595.99. This camp is open to kids entering grades 7 through 9 in August 2026. Each camper will receive a t-shirt, water bottle, and drawstring backpack. Jo Smith-Nilsson (she/her) has been an Instrumental Music Director at Mountain View High School since 2022. Jo splits her time between Mountain View High and Los Altos High Schools. When she's not teaching she is usually reading fiction, tending to her houseplants, or visiting family in New Mexico.
